电子科技大学西非研究中心创立于2017年4月，是由电子科技大学与加纳大学、加纳海岸角大学、加纳行政打点学院、加纳温尼巴教诲大学、加纳成长大学配合筹建的特色研究中心。中心依托民众打点学院，由赵蜀蓉传授接受中心主任。
西非研究中心的创立，是电子科技大学践行“国度哲学社会科学走出去计谋”的一项重要设施，也是电子科技大学构开国际化跨学科研究系统、打造新型高端“智库”的有益试探。中心将驻足于电子科技大学学科与国际交换上风，着眼于西非国度成长的实际题目和需求，以留门生人才作育为基本，搭建高程度的国际学术交换平台，宣布研究课题，开展连系研究，为我国及西非国度提供高程度智库处事。
中心的方针和使命：
西非研究中心将连系加纳5所高校成员单元、电子科技大学西非校友会和加纳中华工商总会，出力于打造集留门生人才作育基地、学术交换平台、西非研究智库为一体的“1 1 1”中非相助新模式，即：
1. 构建一小我私人才作育基地。中心将帮忙拓展来华留门生的西非生源，富厚电子科技大学本科、博士、硕士多条理留门生作育系统；开展西非外洋干部培训、师资培训、定制化ICT与工程培训、门生暑期实践项目等，致力于构建集学历教诲、在职培训、实训实践为一体的多元化、特色化的外洋人才培训基地。
2. 搭建一个学术、文化交换平台。通过按期举行“西非论坛”等国际性学术集会会议、中非情意·学术文化交换月，推广文化资源3D平台外洋落地展项目、中国-西非国际产学研相助项目，中心将致力于搭建集学术、人文、科技等多规模的中非交换和相助平台，进步我国高校、企业在非影响力，晋升文化软气力。
3. 成立一个西非研究智库。中心将团结成员单元的学科上风、研究特色，增强与加纳“伊曼尼政策教诲中心”(环球智库排名113)、“统计、社会和经济研究院”(环球智库排名164)等西非智库组织相助，增强连系研究，宣布、承接研究课题，为我国当局及西非国度提供政策咨询，并成长成为具有必然影响力的西非智库研究中心。

The Center for West African Studies of University of Electronic Science and Technology of China is established through the platform of Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China and resources of our partnership and alumni in West Africa.
The establishment of Center for West African Studies is in line with Chinese National Philosophy and Social Sciences “Going Global” Strategy with the need to improve the image of UESTC in West African countries; to enhance China’s influence in West Africa; to strengthen China-Africa collaborations and to serve as a bridge for researchers and practitioners from China, West Africa and beyond to identify and meet the needs of West African development.
Our mission and goals:
1. Serve as a training base for international students at UESTC which will promote cooperation and exchanges between West African universities and UESTC in aspects such as talents training, laboratory building and student internship, training and exchanges.
2. Build a high-level international platform of academic & culture exchanges, promote research work to enhance understanding in African affairs and Chinese culture in West Africa by encouraging cultural exchanges with West African universities and institutes.
3. Foster collaborative research efforts to carry out high quality policy-relevant and development-oriented research and disseminate the results to help policy makers in West Africa, aiming to become a top rating Think Tank that will support West African development socially and economically.
